White Paper Proposals




White Paper Proposal Instructions

Proposals are due by end of day Monday, October 13th. All of the following steps are required.

Step 1: Create your White Paper Proposal as a Word document. Detailed instructions and specifications are below.

Step 2: Fill out and submit this form, cutting and pasting the 3-page Justification and the 1-page Budget from your Word document into the text boxes below. Some formatting (e.g., tables) will not transfer into the text box. Sending the Word document or pdf as described in Step 3 will ensure that we have your document as you have created it.

Step 3: Email your entire 5-page document (Cover Page, 3-page Justification, 1-page Budget), as a Word or pdf attachment and not embedded in the email message, to: wpprops@email.arizona.edu.

All white paper proposals, including contact information, will be posted on the Provost's website shortly after Monday, October 13.

3-page Justification

3 pages ONLY, using 11 point, Times New Roman font with 1" margins.

  • Explain how the reorganization or consolidation will strengthen the unit's teaching, service, and research, or creative activities, and thereby advance The University of Arizona in accordance with the UA Strategic Plan 2009 - 2013.
  • Explain how the reorganization or consolidation will raise the unit's and the University's ranking or reputation.
  • Describe the processes of consultation with deans, heads, faculty, staff, appointed personnel, and students and the extent to which this proposal has the support of those affected (with the understanding that it may not have been possible to conduct full consultation with all parties at this point in the process).

1-page Budget

  • Provide a budget with a general outline about the projected net savings due to the reorganization.
